Wofford women’s golf finishes sixth at Low Country Invitational

The Wofford women’s golf team finished in sixth place at the Low Country Invitational, which concluded on March 10. The event was hosted by the Terriers at the Golf Club at Indigo Run in Hilton Head, South Carolina, and featured 15 teams.

The tournament is notable for Wofford’s strong individual performances. Bella Kent led the team with a tie for ninth place, marking her third top ten finish of the season. Kent completed the tournament with a score of 226, finishing ten over par. Lilli Horn also placed well, tying for 12th with a score of 227, while Grace Lindsey achieved a career-best tie for 15th as an individual competitor.

Wofford posted scores of 307 and 308 in the first two rounds and finished with a final round of 313. The team’s overall performance included tying for fifth in par-3 scoring average (3.40) and third in par-4 scoring average (4.33). They also recorded the third most pars among all teams with a total of 157.

UNC Asheville won the team competition with a score of 901, while Caroline Patterson from UNC Asheville took first place individually with a one-over-par total of 217. Other notable performances from Wofford included Sofia Pedrero tying for 41st place and both Delaney Wade and Valeria Melo tying for 45th.

Freshman Grace Lindsey stood out among individual competitors by finishing tied for 15th with a score of 230, her best result to date. Elle Webber tied for 54th and Anna Ahonen tied for 58th to round out Wofford’s participation.

The Terriers are scheduled to compete next at the Bermuda Triangle Collegiate in South Hampton, Bermuda, beginning March 30.
