On October 27, 2022, The Spartanburg County Foundation graduated 28 community leaders from its 18th year of the Grassroots Leadership Development Institute (GLDI). Class members volunteered over 850 hours building leadership skills over the course of seven months.
Graduates include representatives of grassroots organizations and initiatives, nonprofit organizations, entrepreneurs, small and large businesses, education, healthcare, and faith communities. A celebration was held in their honor at the Piedmont Club featuring live music, class reflections, and an inspirational message provided by Rev. Dr. Chauncey Sims. Nearly 150 community members, including SCF Trustees, staff, prior graduates, and graduate family members/friends participated in the celebration.
