Applications for the Fall 2022 Spartanburg County Citizens' Academy are now being accepted.

Spartanburg County’s Citizens’ Academy is a learning forum intended to provide participants with insight on how county government works, open lines of communication between citizens and county staff, provide information on how citizens can easily utilize county government service, and provide a realistic understanding of county government operations.

Each week focuses on a different area of county government such as Planning and Land Use, Public Infrastructure, Public Safety and the Judicial System, and Operating Local Government. One week focuses on Quality of Life and includes other area funding organizations. Several classes involve tours of facilities and operations.

Weekly sessions will meet on Tuesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., between September 20th and November 15th.

Graduation will be held on Monday, November 21st, during County Council’s monthly meeting.
