Sheriff's Office collecting school supplies for kids in foster care

The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office, in partnership with P.S. I Love You, is again collecting book bags filled with school supplies. These book bags will be given to children who are in foster care in Spartanburg County.

There are currently 210 school-aged children in foster care in Spartanburg County, with 160 in elementary school and 50 in middle & high school.

Please consider helping by donating a book bag filled with school supplies. The children are in foster care at no fault of their own. Getting a new book bag to take with them on the first day of school will undoubtedly brighten their day.

Please drop book bags off at the Sheriff’s Office (8045 Howard Street, Spartanburg, SC 29303) or any of our community centers (Woodruff Leisure Center, Timken Community Center, Chesnee Community Center, or TW Edwards Community Center). They will be collecting them until Friday, July 29th.

If you have any questions, please contact Cpl. Lynn Hayes at (864) 809-4456 or victim assistance:

Donna Phillips (864) 503-4627
