Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on August 26.

Spartanburg County’s economy has recovered from the damage of COVID-19. That was what the data clearly showed as of June 2021.

But as the Delta Variant spreads across the country and across Spartanburg, there are still measures your business – no matter what size or industry – should take to keep your team safe, and to keep our community’s momentum on track.

VACCINES

The most effective step that can be taken to keep you and your team safe is to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

The vaccine has scientifically been proven to be safe and to be the best way to stop the spread of the coronavirus. Individuals can easily get vaccinated for free, and our partnership with Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System can help employers schedule vaccination appointments for team members.

Spartanburg Regional has been a tremendous force in Spartanburg County during the pandemic, going above and beyond in patient care and offering community leadership when Spartanburg needed it the most.

HEALTH MEASURES

Throughout the pandemic, we’ve asked Spartanburg’s businesses to commit to combating COVID-19 through nationally-recommended health and hygiene tips.

  • Monitor employee health: if a team member is ill, encourage them to stay home, and to potentially get a COVID-19 test
  • Wear masks: when social distancing isn’t possible, team members should wear masks, particularly those who aren’t vaccinated
  • Hand hygiene: encourage thorough hand-washing and use of hand sanitizer
  • Keep clean: clean thoroughly at regular intervals or between guests
  • Space out: allow for social distancing when possible and adhere to capacity guidelines

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF FREE TESTING

Spartanburg Regional and the SC Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC) reopened its free, drive-thru testing location on Church Street in August 2021. The testing site is open from 8:30 AM-6 PM on Mondays and 8:30 AM-5 PM Tuesday-Friday. Registration is highly recommended, though not required, at covidtest.dhec.sc.gov.

And thanks to our fast-turnaround testing partnership with Luxor Scientific, Spartanburg County businesses can receive results within 48 hours at a reduced price of $85. Luxor will tailor agreements for each business, defining the scope of services and how they intend to interact with individuals. Business representatives are encouraged to contact Luxor directly after signing up through the Chamber at 864-568-8940.
