Of the 1,939 citizens living in Blacksburg in 2019, 1,391 were old enough to vote as of Jan. 26, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.

The bureau reported 749 of those people were female and 642 were male.

Data for this story was compiled from the bureau’s American Community Survey. Information from the survey helps to determine how federal and state funds are distributed.
