Of the 12,582 people living in Gaffney in 2019, 51.7 percent (6,502) were women and 48.3 percent (6,080) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the Spartanburg Reporter.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by a ratio of 3,914-to-3,769. In the 65 and over age range, there were 1,253 females and 870 males.
