Cost of college went up for all students at Spartanburg Methodist College

Tuition and fees rose 1 percent for 2018-19 at Spartanburg Methodist College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

South Carolina students paid $17,035 to attend the two-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $175 more than the $16,860 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 493 students received grants or scholarships totaling $7.5 million and 340 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.8 million.

Including all undergraduates (869), 788 students used grants or scholarships totaling $11.6 million, and 565 students took out $3 million in federal student loans.
