Cost of college went up for all students at Wofford College

Tuition and fees rose 4.8 percent for 2018-19 at Wofford College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

South Carolina students paid $43,985 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $2,030 more than the $41,955 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 97 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 439 students received grants or scholarships totaling $13 million and 213 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.9 million.

Including all undergraduates (1,666), 1,577 students used grants or scholarships totaling $47.9 million, and 761 students took out $5 million in federal student loans.
