59 percent of applicants to Converse College were admitted for fall 2018

At Converse College, 90 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 99 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Spartanburg enrolled 1,380 students in fall 2018, including 893 in undergraduate and 487 in graduate programs, data shows. 2.9 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

71 percent of undergraduates are residents of South Carolina, and 24 percent are residents of other states. 4 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (63 percent) and Black or African American (11 percent).

The school admitted 59 percent of the 1,808 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 20 percent enrolled.
